GST rollout: 10 items that will become cheaper after July 1

The implementation of GST is expected to bring some much-needed relief to the common man's pocket, especially where essential goods are concerned.

With the rollout of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) all set for July 1, the country is in a rush to set up the infrastructural backbone for the biggest tax reform ever. This also includes tweaking of technology to bring as many as, 3.5 billion invoices within the GST Network by July 1. However, a smooth transfer and proper implementation would be highly beneficial to consumers, as prices of many essential products are all set to go down.

The Parliament cleared the way for the rollout of the new tax structure by passing four key bills in April. While the GST Council has finalised the rules regarding tax refund, registration, invoice debit and credit, the framework on input-tax credit, valuation, transitional provisions and composition will be determined at the next GST Council meeting scheduled for May 18.

The GSTN will provide the perfect technological skeletal system to support the unification and subsumption of various indirect taxes levied by the centre and the state, including the Value Added Tax (VAT), Customs and Excise duty and service tax among others, thereby creating a unified market across India.

The proposed sales tax will also serve to reduce the current costs of production and boost the manufacturing sector. It is expected that under the new GST regime, the cost of manufactured goods will come down, whereas the cost of services is expected to increase.

To ease further apprehensions regarding tax rates, Finance minister Arun Jaitley addressed the CII annual conference on Friday and promised not to spring any surprises in fixing of the tax rates under the GST regime. He however, asked companies to ensure that the benefits they receive because of the GST be passed on to the consumers.

"We are now in final stages of fixing tariffs for different commodities. The formula under which it is being done has also been explained and therefore nobody is going to be taken by surprise, it's not going to be very significantly different (from the present)," said Jaitley. The implementation of GST is expected to bring some much-needed relief to the common man's pocket, especially where essential goods are concerned.

10 essential products that will be cheaper after GST rollout:

Cars- With lower manufacturing costs, the prices of all types of cars are expected to drop significantly.

Batteries- The unified tax rated will bring the prices of batteries down significantly. The sector currently has to shell out 40-45 per cent in compounded taxes.

Movie ticket- Lowered rates of entertainment taxes will ensure that the costs of movie tickets will go down.

Cabs: Travelling via cabs or taxis is set to get cheaper, especially where inter-state travel is concerned.

Electronics items- Like fans, lighting, water heaters, air coolers, geysers etc. are expected to become cheaper after GST.

Mobile Phones- GST will remove the VAT applied on mobile phones making them cheaper more equally priced in all states.

Construction material- Construction materials such paint and cement are likely to turn cheaper. This will give a great boost to the construction industry.

Packaged food- Processed and packaged food items will get cheaper in the coming days.

Transportation- Transportation of goods from one state to another is expected to become quite simplified in the coming days. The abolition of VAT will make the process less costly.

Online Shopping- Shopping for a vast variety of products via online portals such as Flipkart and Amazon will become significantly cheaper.

Four rate categories of 5, 12, 18 and 28 per cents have been finalised by the GST Council. Fitment for all the goods and services will be done by adding the total incidence of current taxation, including central and state levies, and putting the goods and services in one of the above tax brackets that is closest to the total.

I’ve learned-

I’ve learned-

that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is be someone who can be loved. The rest is up to them.

I’ve learned-

that no matter how much I care, some people just don’t care back.

I’ve learned-

that it takes years to build up trust, and only seconds to destroy it.

I’ve learned-

that no matter how good a friend is, they’re going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.

I’ve learned-

that it’s not what you have in your life but who you have in your life that counts.

I’ve learned-

that you should never ruin an apology with an excuse.

I’ve learned-

that you can get by on charm for about fifteen minutes. After that, you’d better know something.

5 foods that can help prevent liver disease

The liver is one of the most vital organs of the body which plays a key role in various biochemical processes like removal of toxins from the body, storage of glucose and iron and synthesis of cholesterol. The modern-day...

 Vegetables

Although most vegetables are found to exert a positive effect on the liver, some are extremely beneficial in maintaining the health of the organ. The vegetables that are rich in sodium (like cabbage), sulphur (like onion and broccoli) and niacin (carrots) are good for liver. These compounds help in detoxification of the liver, protect it from harmful toxins and prevent absorption of toxic substances by the liver.

Garlic (lasoon)

Loaded with a wide range of healthy nutrients, garlic acts a perfect natural food to improve liver function and protect against various diseases. A single clove of garlic has the ability to activate enzymes which play a key role in flushing out toxins responsible for liver damage. It contains high amounts of two natural compounds namely selenium and allicin that helps in its liver cleansing process.

Turmeric (haldi)

Used as a natural food colour, turmeric is loaded with myriad healthy nutrients that help in keeping the liver healthy. Add a pinch of turmeric to a curry, soup or dal to enhance the taste of the dish and improve the detoxifying ability of the liver. In addition to removing the dietary carcinogens from the body, turmeric also helps in stimulating bile production.

Dry fruits

We all know that dry fruits are an excellent snack option due to their high content of dietary fibre and other nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids. But what most of us are unaware of, is that these nuts are very good for the liver as well. Walnuts are loaded with good amounts of glutathione, which plays a key role in the liver cleansing process and protecting the liver from various clinical complications.

BANK ACCOUNT

Imagine there is a bank, which credits your account each morning with Rs 86,400, carries over no balance from day to day, allows you to keep no cash balance, and every evening cancels whatever part of the amount you had failed to use during the day. What would you do? Draw out every pence, of course!
Well, everyone has such a bank. Its name is Time.
Every morning, it credits you with 86,400 seconds. Every night it writes off, as lost, whatever of this you have failed to invest to good purpose. It carries over no balance. It allows no overdraft. Each day it opens a new account for you. Each night it burns the records of the day. If you fail to use the day's deposits, the loss is yours.
There is no going back. There is no drawing against the "tomorrow."
Therefore, there is never not enough time or too much time. Time management is decided by us alone and nobody else. It is never the case of us not having enough time to do things, but the case of whether we want to do it.

Enjoy your life at every moment

Once a fisherman was sitting near seashore, under the shadow of a tree smoking his beedi. Suddenly a rich businessman passing by approached him and enquired as to why he was sitting under a tree smoking and not working. To this the poor fisherman replied that he had caught enough fishes for the day.

Hearing this the rich man got angry and said: Why don’t you catch more fishes instead of sitting in shadow wasting your time?

Fisherman asked: What would I do by catching more fishes?

Businessman: You could catch more fishes, sell them and earn more money, and buy a bigger boat.

Fisherman: What would I do then?

Businessman: You could go fishing in deep waters and catch even more fishes and earn even more money.

Fisherman: What would I do then?

Businessman: You could buy many boats and employ many people to work for you and earn even more money.

Fisherman: What would I do then?

Businessman: You could become a rich businessman like me.

Fisherman: What would I do then?

Businessman: You could then enjoy your life peacefully.

Fisherman: Isn’t that what I am doing now?

Moral – You don’t need to wait for tomorrow to be happy and enjoy your life. You don’t even need to be more rich, more powerful to enjoy life. LIFE is at this moment, enjoy it fully.

As some great men have said “My riches consist not in extent of my possessions but in the fewness of my wants”.

Increase Your Intelligence by 25%

This Simple Habit Will Increase Your Intelligence By 25 Per Cent, Suggests Neuroscience
MynahCare English

The neuroscience has advised a simple daily habit, which takes even less than the time it takes you to take your breakfast but it could raise your intelligence by around one fourth of the total intelligence you have.

Intelligence has two categories
Neuroscience categorizes intelligence in two categories i.e. fluid intelligence and crystallized intelligence. Fluid intelligence is defined as your ability to solve problems, identify patterns and use logic and in brief it involves your creativity, awareness and innovation. And crystallized intelligence is your ability to use experience, skills and information. This improves with age.

Doing daily meditation just for 4 days helped
So by reading more, collecting more facts, listening to podcasts etc, it is easy to increase your crystallized intelligence but it's commonly thought that fluid intelligence is largely fixed. However, fresh studies have shown that you can improve your fluid intelligence and the secret is doing meditation. According to a study by the Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback, the people using a specific form of breathing meditation i.e. brainwave training could improve their IQ by 23 percent. And the result was long-lasting too. The study, published in Consciousness and Cognition, concluded that just doing daily meditation for 4 days, participants demonstrated improvements in lowered stress levels, memory and concentration.

Why meditation improve your Intelligence
According to the studies, the main reason for meditation improving your IQ is because it slows brain wave activity, allowing the brain to increase its plasticity and reorganize itself. So, practicing breathing meditation for as little as 5 minutes or for as long as you like give long-lasting positive results.

How to do this meditation
Sit in a comfortable position.Keep your eyes shut, or you can gaze downwards.Draw your attention to the physical sensation of breathing.Concentrate on the sensations with every breath.Avoid distractions as it is quite natural to encounter a scattering of thoughts and feelings while practising meditation. But do not wrestle with your wandering mind. Practice the breathing meditation, observe and note your attention.Breathe in and out, whenever your mind wanders off.

Learn From Mistakes

Thomas Edison tried two thousand different materials in search of a filament for the light bulb. When none worked satisfactorily, his assistant complained, “All our work is in vain. We have learned nothing.”

Edison replied very confidently, “Oh, we have come a long way and we have learned a lot. We know that there are two thousand elements which we cannot use to make a good light bulb.”

WHY ME??

A Beautiful Message

by Arthur Ashe,

The Legendary Wimbledon Player was dying of AIDS

which he got due to Infected Blood he received

during a Heart Surgery in 1983!

He received letters from his fans, one of which conveyed:

"Why did God have to select you for such a bad disease?"

To this Arthur Ashe replied:

50 Million children started playing Tennis,

5 Million learnt to play Tennis,

500 000 learnt Professional Tennis,

50 Thousand came to Circuit,

5 Thousand reached Grand Slam,

50 reached Wimbledon,

4 reached the Semifinals,

2 reached the Finals and

when I was holding the cup in my hand, I never asked God

"Why Me?"

So now that I'm in pain how can I ask God

"Why Me?"

Happiness keeps you Sweet!

Trials keep you Strong!

Sorrows keep you Human!

Failure keeps you Humble!

Success keeps you Glowing!

But only, Faith keeps you Going!

Sometimes you are not satisfied with your life,

while many people in this world are dreaming of living your life.

A child on a farm sees a plane fly overhead dreams of flying.

But, A pilot on the plane sees the farmhouse & dreams of returning home.

That's life!

Enjoy yours... If wealth is the secret to happiness,

then the rich should be dancing on the streets.

But only poor kids do that.

If power ensures security, then VIPs should walk unguarded.

But those who live simply, sleep soundly.

If beauty and fame bring ideal relationships,

then celebrities should have the best marriages.

Live simply. Walk humbly and love genuinely!

A small story

carrying big message

Give Time To Our Family

After 21 years of marriage, my wife wanted me to take another woman out to dinner and a movie. She said, “I love you, but I know this other woman loves you and would love to spend some time with you.”

The other woman that my wife wanted me to visit was my MOTHER, who has been a widow for 19 years, but the demands of my work and my three children had made it possible to visit her only occasionally. That night I called to invite her to go out for dinner and a movie.

“What’s wrong, are you well?” she asked.

My mother is the type of woman who suspects that a late night call or a surprise invitation is a sign of bad news. “I thought that it would be pleasant to spend some time with you,” I responded. “Just the two of us.”

She thought about it for a moment, and then said, “I would like that very much.”

That Friday after work, as I drove over to pick her up I was a bit nervous. When I arrived at her house, I noticed that she, too, seemed to be nervous about our date. She waited in the door with her coat on. She had curled her hair and was wearing the dress that she had worn to celebrate her last wedding anniversary. She smiled from a face that was as radiant as an angel’s.

“I told my friends that I was going to go out with my son, and they were impressed, “she said, as she got into the car. “They can’t wait to hear about our meeting.”

We went to a restaurant that, although not elegant, was very nice and cozy. My mother took my arm as if she were the First Lady. After we sat down, I had to read the menu. Her eyes could only read large print. Half way through the entries, I lifted my eyes and saw Mom sitting there staring at me. A nostalgic smile was on her lips.

“It was I who used to have to read the menu when you were small,” she said.

“Then it’s time that you relax and let me return the favor,” I responded.

During the dinner, we had an agreeable conversation – nothing extraordinary but catching up on recent events of each other’s life. We talked so much that we missed the movie.

As we arrived at her house later, she said, “I’ll go out with you again, but only if you let me invite you.”

I agreed.

“How was your dinner date?” asked my wife when I got home. “Very nice. Much more so than I could have imagined,” I answered.

A few days later, my mother died of a massive heart attack. It happened so suddenly that I didn’t have a chance to do anything for her. Some time later, I received an envelope with a copy of a restaurant receipt from the same place mother and I had dined. An attached note said, “I paid this bill in advance. I wasn’t sure that I could be there; but nevertheless, I paid for two plates – one for you and the other for your wife. You will never know what that night meant for me. I love you, son.”

At that moment, I understood the importance of saying in time: “I LOVE YOU” and to give our loved ones the time that they deserve.

Nothing in life is more important than your family. Give them the time they deserve, because these things cannot be put off till “some other time.

Having a Best Friend

https://www.askideas.com/media/13/Best-Friend-Smileys-On-Hand.jpg

A story tells that two friends were walking through the desert. During some point of the journey they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one in the face.

The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand “Today my best friend slapped me in the face”.

They kept on walking until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him. After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone “Today my best friend saved my life”.

The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him, “After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now, you write on a stone, why?”

The other friend replied “When someone hurts us we should write it down in sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away. But, when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it.”

Do not value the things you have in your life. But value who you have in your life.
